Installation of Umbrella project:
In an effort to enhance the comfort and convenience of worshippers, the authorities at the Grand Mosque in Makkah (Masjid-al-Haram), Saudi Arabia have implemented a new initiative.
In the Grand Mosque of Makkah (Masjid-al-Haram) World’s largest foldable umbrella will be installed in the North courtyard.
This is the first umbrella of the eight high-tech umbrellas. They will install a total of eight big-size umbrellas.
What is the size of the world’s largest umbrella?
Along with these 8 umbrellas, 54 umbrellas, smaller in size, will also install in the Northern courtyard of Grand Moqque, Saudi Arabia. These biggest umbrellas will cover an area of 2400 square meters. Together these umbrellas will cover an area of 19200 square meters.
Working on an umbrella project:
German company manufactured these umbrellas, and each canopy of these umbrellas has a screen to guide pilgrims, a clock, air conditioners, and cameras.
The Saudi government has bound the German company that designed and manufactured these folding biggest umbrellas not to replicate the same elsewhere.
Approximately, 25 engineers, specialist technicians, and safety experts from Germany will supervise the installation process and electronic operating mechanism.
King Abdullah in December 2014, a few weeks before his death ordered the installation of umbrellas in the Grand Mosque.
The entire northern part of the mosque from the King Fahd Expansion structure to the King Abdullah Expansion structure will have canopies.
The size of each world’s largest umbrella is 45 meters high and its weight is 16 tons. Each umbrella will cover an area of 2400 sq. meters under its shade. Which will shade a big portion around the holy Kaaba inside Masjid Al Haram Saudi Arabia. The size of each umbrella is 53×53 m.
The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah:
They installed 250 smaller-sized umbrellas in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The size of these umbrellas installed in Masjid e Nabvi is 25×25.
Foldable umbrellas will offer protection from direct sunlight, reducing the risk of sunburn and heat exhaustion.
