According to the latest update of Turkey’s Election unofficial results published, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has beaten rival Kilicdaroglu.

Reported results from the Turkish election are often controversial. But the official election authority, YSK has confirmed the final result will not change. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won another five years in power in Turkey’s election. Officials say he won 52.16% of the votes in a near-complete count.

President, 69-year-old Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed victory in the latest update of Turkey’s election, on Sunday 28 May 2023. This victory will allow him to continue ruling with more power for another five years, stretching his rule into a third decade. Even this time he faced his toughest opponent.

Remember that Erdoğan was the joint candidate of the People’s Alliance which majorly comprises AKP (Justice and Development Party) and MHP (Nationalist Movement Party). On the other hand, Kılıçdaroğlu was the joint candidate of the Nation Alliance which comprises six political parties.

From the roof of the bus in Istanbul, Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed his supporters. He thanked the people for the runoff results and said that the Turks had chosen him to be their leader once again.

“The only winner is Turkey, We will be together until the grave,” he said.

Final official results are yet to be released. These are late-night unofficial results.

According to the latest update of Turkey’s runoff election, Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 27,513,587 votes or 52.14%. According to figures released by the country’s Supreme Election Council, beating challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu who had 25,260,109 votes, or 47.86%.

Russian President Vladimir Putin joined many other world leaders in congratulating Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On Sunday for the latest update of Tukey’s runoff election outcomes. However, it’s important to note that the counting of votes is still ongoing. The official results have not been released yet.

“The victory in the elections was a natural result of your selfless work. As head of the Republic of Turkey, clear evidence of the Turkish people’s support for your efforts to strengthen state sovereignty and pursue an independent foreign policy,” Putin said in a statement.
